I happened upon this book by Willard Price, while browsing through a Friends of the Library Sale, and thought it might be interesting as a time capsule of life in the South Pacific from the 1950s. I was not disappointed.Certainly much has changed in the intervening years - but there is an enjoyable quality to the dry humor that enlivens Price's writing. The profiles of both locals and fellow travelers that he meets add additional layers to the travelogue narrative that add to the reader's pleasure.
